This is the logo business card and letterhead design for Swisher Services, an electric and general contracting business in the Houston area.
The client declined shipping labels or envelopes because they said they aimed to be as green as possible, and didn’t plan on shipping much.
The logo is divisible and is composed of three elements: The text, the bulb part of the light bulb, and the screw part of the lightbulb. The lightbulb was chosen from a hand full of ideas because they focus on electrical contracting, and specifically custom lighting. The screw part is actually two S’s, to represent the company’s name. Swisher Service’s colors are meant to have a soothing, and reliable feeling, while maintaing a sleek, and sturdy look. The navy blue was chosen for reliability, and the light green for growth and environmentally conscious practices.
The font chosen was Myriad Pro for a clean look with high legibility and approachability.
As for the business card, the Thomas Edison quote was chosen because, well he did invent the lightbulb after all, but also because the quote spoke largely to their motto. The ruler was also added to the top of the business card in order to give it a second purpose, other than just contact info.
